Jaguars Prove Too Much for Warsaw

Saturday, the Saint Joseph Jaguars took on Warsaw as the opening act of a big Saturday for women's rugby in Ohio. They did not disappoint, putting on a show and putting up big points against their opponents in a 47-5 off-season win.

This match was a match-up of elites. Saint Joseph is Ohio's top high school girls' team and Warsaw is no. 2 in Indiana. The Jaguars defended team and state pride during the weekend route. It took the Jaguars a while to warm up, but when they did they began dominating the field.

The scores came from all over the field and from players new and seasoned. Anne Rolf , Rebecca Sullivan, Yassmine Valentine, Maeve Mullen, Alex Strasser, Tayler Valentine and Rachael Kean crossed over the whitewash for their team; and the Saint Joseph defense clearly stood strong, allowing only a single try the entire match.

"This game was a fun way to get some rugby in outside of the league season," Cleary said in a write-up for the school. "Both coaches agreed to make this competition an annual event."

Cleary is now looking to the season ahead and wants to add players to her roster this coming January in an effort to make a run at another successful campaign.
