Rugby Monthly Calendar: March 2015

The grass is starting to peek out from under the snow and the white lines are being drawn on the fields. Rugby season is officially kicking up in the Buckeye State. Take a look at some of the great events going on around Ohio in the month of March.


Findlay Renegades High School Rugby Informational Meeting:

Do you like sandwiches? Do you want to support Ohio rugby? Well, if you answered "yes" to at least of one of these questions then the Kent State Men's Rugby fundraiser is for you. Open up the month of March with the team's fundraiser at Twisted Meltz, where 10 per cent of the proceeds go towards the club to help with their operating costs.


Check out Findlay Renegades High School Rugbyhould come to the informational meeting on Monday, March 9 from 6:00pm-7:00pm. The meeting will take place at the University of Findlay in the Davis Building, Room 1121- the long building on Davis Street. Use doors closest to Morey Street.



Canton Maddogs Non-Contact Clinic: The Canton Rugby Foundation recently announced the schedule for its fifth annual, free, non-contact rugby skills clinic. The clinic will be hosted at Hall of Fame Fitness Center on the indoor field. The date for the clinic is March 1. Both will go from 2:00pm-4:00pm.

The sessions are open to boys and girls in the Stark County area from ages 12 and up who are interested in learning more about rugby. Those who attend will participate in fun, fast-paced drills and games that stress the importance of teamwork in the sport.

There are now seven coaches certified by USA Rugby involved with the club. There are also veterans from the Canton Maddogs who will help run the games and drills at the clinic.

Youngstown Steel Valley Skills Clinic: Are you someone who lives in Youngstown, or do you know someone who lives in Youngstown that's interested in playing rugby? Well then there's good news! Youngstown Steel Valley Rugby will be holding a skills session March 21 to bring in new players ahead of their Spring season! Check out details below!

Avon Lake and Cleveland Rovers St. Patrick's Day Party: Come out and help us celebrate five years of Avon Lake Rugby and help with the team's inaugural St. Patrick's Day Fundraiser. The event is being put on in conjunction with the Cleveland Rovers, one of the city's oldest and most successful men's clubs. Proceeds from the event benefit both clubs and help with their operating costs as they compete. Come out to Ahern Party Center and support solid Cleveland rugby.
