The playoff situation for the in the southern wilds of the Buckeye State is all but set, and the scene is similar to playoffs past.

According to the League Coordinator, at this point in the spring portion of the Southern League, the League Leaders are the Columbus Castaways and Cincinnati Kelts, who both scored tight wins to stay atop the bracket.

At the end of the ninth week of competition, the results of competitions were as follows:

  • Lexington 7 at Kelts 14 – The Kelts had two converted tries to Lexington's single converted try.
  • Wolfhounds 54 at Louisville 14 – The Wolfhounds put together an impressive eight-try performance, with sevens conversions made to boot. Just as impressive on the defensive side, the Cincinnati side only let in a pair of tries.
  • Queen City 22 at Castaways 24 – Though Queen City put in more tries than the Castaways, the Columbus side bested their competition in the end, scoring three tries, being perfect on the conversions and slotting a penalty kick.

After week nine, the Castaways stand atop the group with 33 points. The Cincinnati Kelts aren't far behind, with a matching record of seven wins and a single loss. They are one point behind the Columbus side, having amassed 32 points of their own. From that point, it is a precipitous drop off in points.
