Registration Open for Rookie Rugby Cleveland's Fall Season

Fall means summer is over and children head back to school. Be that as it may, it doesn't mean the fun has to stop. To that effect, Rookie Rugby Cleveland is inviting players to register for its upcoming Fall season.

Registration opens September on the Rugby Ohio Web site, bringing competitive opportunities to boys and girls from fifth through eighth grades. The cost for registration is $70 per player, with CIPP credit going towards the Spring season as well. Those looking to register a team for this upcoming session must do so before October 1, with the official schedule being posted on October 11.

The session will run from October 25 through November 15, when the League Championships will be held. Make-up matches will be held on November 22 if necessary. All matches will be held at Wasmer Field on the campus of Saint Ignatius High School.

For those unfamiliar with how the sessions run, a typical Sunday goes like this:
  • 12:00pm - The field opens for warm-ups
  • 1:00pm - Fifth and Sixth Grade League plays
  • 3:00pm - Seventh and Eighth Grade Girls' League plays
  • 4:00pm - Seventh and Eighth Grade Boys' League plays

Get your players and teams in fast while space lasts. For those still on the fence about whether to join in the rugby action or not, take a look at what some past participants have to say.
