Keeping Up With Ohio Rugby: Division II

We are well into October and the rugby season is well upon us. The senior level teams are into the meat of their respective season, and some are near the top of their brackets while others are not. Let's take a look at which teams are topping their respective tables and which need a little more work.

Division II:
The newly-formed Cleveland Crusaders have made an impact on the division and currently sit atop the division table by a single point. Currently, the team's record only has a single blemish on it, a loss to the Detroit Tradesmen who won the entire division last year. During that loss the team put up nearly 40 points and came within 21 points of getting the win. Fortunately for the Crusaders, big scores in their other matches have given the Cleveland club the point differential necessary to take first in the league - despite the loss.

Dayton has had less-than-favorable results so far in the season. The Flying Pigs are without a mark in the win column and are at the bottom of the league table. Dayton could turn their fortunes around a bit if they can manage to beat the Detroit RFC in the second meeting of the two teams. Unfortunately, the Tradesmen and Pittsburgh are in the way before that can occur.
