Rookie Rugby Cleveland Offers Free Clinics for Kids

Rookie Rugby Cleveland has become known for its competitive youth leagues. Along with this year's fall season, the organization will be offering free skills clinics in conjunction with ProRugby to help further develop the youth rugby scene.

The first of these free clinics will be a a precursor to the season and take place on Sunday, September 11, 2016 and be held at Saint Ignatius High School.  Sessions will be held on the grass fields on the south side of Lorain Road.

The day will be broken down between all the age groups, with the youngsters going first and the old boys wrapping up the day.

  • Kindergarten - Fourth Grade Division - 1:00pm to 1:45pm
  • Fifth and Sixth Grade Division - 2:00pm to 2:45pm
  • Seventh and Eighth Grade Girls Division - 3:00pm to 3:45pm
  • Seventh and Eighth Grade Boys Division  - 4:00pm to 4:45pm

This clinic has two purposes. First, will allow players to get a warm-up ahead of the Fall season beginning. Second, and most importantly, it will be a way for new players to get introduced to the game without any cost.

Those interested in attending don't need to have any experience with the sport or worry about bringing any equipment. Participants only need to attend at their allotted time and be ready to learn and have fun. Players can stay for more than one clinic as well.

Participants that want to continue with the the Fall league, play will begin on Sunday, October 23, 2016. Registrations are now open.
